BOU’s Mutebile Named Best Governor In Africa

Prof Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile, Governor Bank of Uganda has received the best Africa Investor Group Award.

He has been named the best Central Bank Governor of the year 2013 because of his efforts in stabilizing prices.

Mutebile received the award because of his leadership in fostering price stability which has boosted the investment sector of Uganda. This was at the annual International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group meeting in Washington, US.

This award is given by the Africa Investor Investment and Business Leader Awards 2013 to governors and institutions which have turned around their countries economic status through economic achievement to be considered successful.

According to Hubert Danso, the Africa Investor Group boss, the continent’s investment profile has seen a historic turnaround in the last 12 months.

“The pursuits of the short listed candidates and winners of the these investment and leadership awards have been instrumental in improving practices that have resulted in increased confidence in Africa as a competitive international investment destination,” he adds.
