Mukono Police Flying Squad Unit Officer In charge ASP Rwego Muhoozi dies in fatal accident while chasing after suspected thieves along Mukono Katosi Road in Ntenjeru Sub County.

Grieve and sorrowful moments rocked Mukono Police station as a patrol carrying the remains of one of their bosses for the Flying Squad Unit Rwego Muhoozi had parked at the station after he had met his death while on duty in Ntenjeru Sub County along Katosi road.
Rewgo and four other flying squad unit officers were chasing the thieves in a speeding private car which he lost control over leading to his death on spot and four others admitted with severe injuries.

Rwego who has been the OC for the flying squad unit was today morning together with four other officers chasing after suspected thieves in a private vehicle number UAT 219Q which he lost control over rolled out of the road causing his death promptly and four others survived with severe injuries.

The injured officers include Assimwe Sam, Alex Natamu and another one only identified as George who are currently admitted at Ntenjeru Health center IV and Abbey Emanuel who is in a critical condition at Nsambya Hospital.

Eye witnesses say both the vehicle for the police and that of the suspects were moving on a terrible speed adding that gun shots were also heard in the process.
Its alleged that through the gun fire that’s when the police officers car lost control which led to the deceased death and others went with serious wounds.

Muhoozi is believed to have just wedded his wife and he has been ever on duty in fighting crime in areas of Mukono district.

Crime preventers who have been closely working with the deceased say that he has been a hard working officer who loved his job very much.

Mukono DPC Rogers Sseguya confirmed the accident and the death of his colleague saying he died in the line of duty serving the nation.

The deceased’s body was later taken away from Mukono police station where it had been brought pending other proceedings and later taken to Mulago Hospital for a postmortem report.
