Joey Vegas Lubega will today fight undefeated South African, Ryno Liebenberg this Saturday March 1st 2014 at Emperors palace,Gauteng, Johannesburg in South Africa for the WBC International light heavyweight title.
Lubega who is the 2002 Commonwealth games (light heavyweight) boxing Silver medalist face off Lienberg in a highly anticipated fight supervised by Tunisian Houicine Houichi.
Joseph Lubega who has been under intensive training in Kampala travelled to South Africa early this week. His last fight was nine months ago where he knock-out Egypt’s Hany Atiyo at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds last year. Lubega’s record is now 16 wins (9 Knock 0uts), 6 defeats and a draw.
Ryno Liebenberg has of 14 wins (10 knock outs) in 14 professional bouts under his belt. He said he can’t wait for the showdown with Joey to whom he admitted is a top rated fighter. ”Can’t wait for Saturday anymore, my blood is boiling, it’s time to RAWL NOW!!!” he revealed on his twitter account.
The fight will be broadcast live on SS7 -DStv at 10.00pm (GMT+2).
