The Electoral Commission has handed over its former Jinja-road based premises to the Uganda National Roads Authority to commence the ongoing construction of the Kampala Flyover.
During the handover, the Electoral Commission Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama expressed mixed feelings; one of the enormous memories going to be trashed but also a relief of the bad working environment with dilapidated infrastructure.
In the meantime, the Electoral Commission will operate at plot7 Industrial Area awaiting relocation to her permanent home that’s under construction somewhere in Lubowa Wakiso district.
