The Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Pius Bigirimana on Thursday appeared at the Anti-Corruption Court in Kololo and maintained that Principal Accountant, Geoffrey Kazinda forged his signature on documents he used to acquire funds from the Bank of Uganda.
PS Birigirmana told court that Kazinda forged his signature on Bank of Uganda Security Forms and Cash Withdraw Authorisation Forms, requesting for transfer of funds to his personal accounts.
“It was me, the Permanent Secretary, and the Interdicted Principal Accountant (Kazinda) who had to sign the security papers and cash withdraw forms but the purported signatures on 12 security papers and around eight withdraw forms were not mine. But I am not so sure because I am not a handwriting expert,” said Bigirimana.
PS Bigirimana also described Kazinda as a “bad character” in office. Further hearing of witnesses resumes today, February 15th at the same court!
