Uganda To Host Africa Travel Association 39th Conference

Uganda will host the Africa Travel Association (ATA)’s 39th Conference in November 2014.

More than 500 visitors are expected to come to Uganda to attend the conference from across the world.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities this will be an opportunity for Uganda to showcase its tourist attractions including gorilla tracking.

It will help promote the country as one of Africa’s leading adventure destinations.

Despite wide calls for boycotting travel to Uganda because of the Anti-Homosexuality Law and Anti-Pornography Bill, the New York US-based ATA will still be hosted in Uganda.

The 39th’s Annual World Congress will be held from November 11-16, 2014.

Going by ATA’s own description of the event: “ATA’s signature event in Africa and provides a networking, learning and agenda-shaping platform for the most diverse group of tourism industry stakeholders of any travel industry event on the continent.

The event will address the timely industry topics, it will offer educational and professional development opportunities and showcase the host Destination’s newest products and services.

The event’s program will involve pre and post country tours, networking events, an African Bazaar among other things.
